Quarantine facility - Tanoa International Dateline Hotel, Nuku'alofa. 13 July 2020.

Quarantine costs for Tongan repatriates will continue to be paid by the Tongan Government confirmed MEIDECC CEO Paula Ma’u yesterday.

Plans for repatriated passengers to start paying for their quarantine from July had been discussed as it costs the government up to around TOP$4,000 per person for 21 days in quarantine.

However, Paula said it was not under consideration at this stage by the Committee.

Non-Tongans are already paying for quarantine.

Quarantine facilities include the Tanoa Hotel in Nuku’alofa, and Makeke Camp in Vaini.
