Two fishermen missing in Ha‘apai [1]

Kava Mone and Maikolo Mahe remain missing at sea at Foa, Ha'apai ,after they went fishing on June 23. Searches over the weekend did not find anything.
Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police ‘Atunaisa Taumoepeau said today, the search was suspended temporarily due to bad weather.
“Once it clears up we will see where to continue searching,” he said.
Over the weekend, a New Zealand aircraft called in to help with the aerial search did not sight anything. One of HMAF's VOEA patrol boats had also carried out a search of the sea area over the weekend but with no results, he said.
Police received the missing report from their families on June 23, when they failed to return home.
The two men, aged 43 and 33 years went out fishing on a small aluminium boat departing from Fangale'oua in Foa.
