Nuku'alofa, Tonga

Wednesday, June 23, 2021 - 19:19

The 248 passengers repatriated from New Zealand and Australia on 2 and 3 June respectively, tested negative for COVID-19 in their last round of testing, confirmed Ministry of Health CEO, Dr Siale ‘Akau’ola today.

All passengers have been in quarantine for 21-days at the Tanoa Hotel and Makeke Camp and have been released.

The next repatriation flights are planned for 30 June from Auckland and Brisbane with around 300 passengers in total.

No date has been set on a repatriation flight from Fiji due to the rise in COVID-19 cases. The Ministry of Health is continuing to monitor the situation in Fiji.
