Three repatriation flights are on schedule to arrive in Tonga this month, including a chartered flight from Vanuatu on June 22 to take seasonal workers to Australia.

MEIDECC CEO Paula Ma’u said today, the chartered flight from Vanuatu will also bring home around 17 Tongan students.

Meanwhile, the repatriation flights from Australia and New Zealand are set for June 30.

“We expect to repatriate around 300 passengers on this month's flights. As for Fiji, still no flights from there due to the increasing COVID-19 cases there,” he said.
