Fiji has 151 active cases of COVID-19 in isolation, including the 28 new cases recorded yesterday, 27 May, according to the Fiji Ministry of Health and Medical Services.
All active cases are within the Suva-Nausori area, with most of the new cases in recent days discovered through contact tracing investigations for known cases.
Large increases in daily case numbers have been largely driven by the fact that recent cases have been linked to large households or workplace groups, funeral gatherings and associated grog sessions in big groups.
A total of 244 cases have been recorded during this current outbreak. Since Fiji recorded its first COVID-19 case in March 2020, there have been 314 cases in total, 159 recoveries, and 4 deaths.

Meanwhile, in the Western area of Fiji, Lautoka Hospital ended its 21-day sequestration yesterday and all its COVID-19 patients have recovered.
No active cases have been recorded and it has also been 15 days since the last case was reported from that division.
Current restrictions in the West and North will be reviewed by health officials.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 tests are continuing with the daily average of testing over the last seven days at 2,567 tests per day.
The 7-day average daily test positivity is at 0.7%, and 1% in the last day. An average of 2.9 tests per 1,000 population were conducted daily over the last 7 days, with 3.2 tests per 1,000 population in the last day.
