Lapaha murder accused remanded after court appearance [1]

Police had earlier reported that the victim's body was found on a beach in Lapaha on eastern Tongatapu on Saturday morning, May 1.
The accused who was living in Halaleva (originally from Fungamisi, Vava'u) surrendered himself to Police on the same Saturday night.
Poli, whose funeral was held last week, was not only a respected Tonga Red Cross communications officer, but was President of the Tonga Leitis Association, who has been widely recognised for working tirelessly as a humanitarian and human rights advocate in Tonga and the Pacific Islands region.
