Proceedings of Tonga Parliament deferred indefinitely [1]

The Tongan Parliament which was scheduled to resume today May 10, after it was officialy opened on 6 May has been deferred indefinitely, according to a spokesperson from the House.
The deference of the proceeding was to enable a committee led by Lord Tu’ivakano to prepare the response of the House to his Majesty’s speech opening the 2021-22 parliamentary session last Thursday. The committee was declared by the Speaker Lord Fakafanua before the House closed for the day.
Top of the working schedule of the House once it resumes is to pass the 2021-22 National Budget before June 1.
