He said the accused was arrested at his home on 19 March 2020, after the police attended without a warrant.

They acted upon information that necessitated their urgently attending the address as they had information that there was methamphetaminethere. Two others were found at the address along with this defendant, at around 3:00am.

A packet of cannabis was found at the address along with three packets of methamphetamine that had been thrown out the window, but was seized by the police later, said the judge.

He then sentenced the accused to eight months, which was suspended for two-years.

“If during that period of suspension there is committed any offence punishable by imprisonment, Mr. Kalekale will be sentenced for the new offence as well as this one and will stand to go to prison for both,” said the judge.

Kalekale was then ordered to carry out 60-hours community service and attend a Drugs Rehabilitarion Course.

"For any breach of that part of the sentence or any failure to comply with probation or carry out all the hours of the community service, he will be re-sentenced."

Meanwhile, all drugs and paraphernalia were subject to forfeiture and a destruction order.
