Final week for COVID-19 vaccination rollout in communities [1]
Monday, May 3, 2021 - 20:09
The Ministry of Health is urging people to get their COVID-19 AstraZeneca innoculations, while vaccination teams are out in communities in their final week up to May 8.
Ten health teams are working on the vaccine rollout including three mobile teams and the one stationed at Vaiola Hospital from 8am to 4pm.
Everyone aged 35 and above are eligible for the vaccine including those who are aged 18 and over with non-communicable diseases and / or have disabilities.
People can either go to vaccination sites for their communities or visit the NCD Centre at Vaiola Hospital.
To date, 10,903 people have been vaccinated and “not a drop has been wasted”, said the Ministry of Health. There have been no reports of extreme allergic reactions.
At least 11,958 people have been registered to date.
