Two arrests in illicit drug busts [1]

Two men were arrested last week after the seizure of methamphetamine and cannabis at two different locations in Tongatapu.
Acting Deputy Commissioner Tevita Vailea said today, a 26-year-old man was arrested at a Ma'ufanga residence by the Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce. Seized were three packs of methamphetamine (1.85 grams), 10 packs of cannabis (6.47 grams), over $900 pa’anga in cash and drug utensils.
Following this arrest, a 22-year-old man from Tofoa was arrested with 0.28 grams of cannabis.
Both accused have been charged with illicit drugs offences and are expected to appear at the Magistrate's Court on a later date.
"Drugs have no place in our community; they destroy the lives of the users, harming our children and our communities," said Acting Dep. Com. Vailea
