Repatriation flight from Auckland rescheduled to 10 March [1]

The repatriation flight from Auckland that was planned for 3 March has been rescheduled to arrive next Wednesday 10 March, confirmed MEIDECC CEO Paula Ma’u this morning.

But the flight departure depends on the lockdown level in Auckland going down to Level 1, an its timing.

It might be challenging for passengers to get COVID-19 tests from Sunday to Tuesday prior to the flight, "unless announced on Friday or Saturday".

On Sunday 28 February, Auckland started its Level 3 alert lockdown due to community COVID-19 cases, which impacted the repatriation flight that was scheduled for 3 March.

The repatriation flights from Australia and Fiji to Tonga are still confirmed for 3 March.
