Tonga sends more seasonal workers to Australia [1]

More than 100 seasonal workers left Tonga on a chartered flight for Australia this afternoon, February 25.

MEIDECC CEO Paula Ma’u said today it is estimated that around 140 plus seasonal workers departed for Brisbane.

There were no incoming passengers.

The flight departed Fua'amotu International Airport after 4:00pm.

Meanwhile, Tonga has since last year been sending seasonal workers to Australia, despite the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and border closures.
