Three repatriation flights scheduled for March 3 [1]

Repatriation flights are scheduled to arrive in Tonga on March 3, from New Zealand, Australia and Fiji.

MEIDECC CEO Paula Ma'u said today, a total of 250 passengers are expected to arrive on these flights.

The flight from Fiji includes returning Tongans from India, workers at the Friendly Island Shipping Agency (FISA) and missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints, as well as returning students. 

Tongans who are travelling via Fiji, had been released from quarantine in Fiji and are just waiting their flight back home to Tonga, he said.

Meanwhile, on February 25 a chartered flight from Australia is expecrted to arrive to take seasonal workers. There will be no incoming passengers.

Passengers are now required to be quarantined for 21-days on arrival in Tonga.
