Youth tests positive for CoViD-19 in Samoa [1]

A positive CoViD-19 test was reported in Samoa on Saturday in a passenger who arrived in Samoa from California, USA, via New Zealand, on 12 February.

The 16-year-old Samoan boy who tested positive for CoViD-19 had transited in New Zealand for 26 hours before arriving in Samoa.

The Samoan Government reported [2] that the passenger was asymptomatic and in good health and currently isolated while further investigations were being carried out.

All staff closely involved with the passenger were being monitored and were to be tested for CoViD-19 today.

All passengers are being monitored while in quarantine with further CoViD-19 tests planned.
