Kele'a editor charged with sedition and defamation [1]

THE Editor of the Kele'a newspaper, Tavake Fusimalohi was arrested and charged with sedition and defamation yesterday, March 22.
Tonga's Acting Police Commander Taniela Faletau confirmed today, that Tavake was arrested yesterday, but was released on bail because of his ill health.
Taniela said that Tavake was brought into the station for further interrogation today. He added that the sedition charge is in relation to articles that were printed in the Kele'a about the Royal family, and the defamation charge was brought in by Joe Ramanlal Jr relating to an article that was published by the Kele'a about him.
