Ten people were arrested with illicit drugs, including methamphetamine from five different locations in Tongatapu over the last three weeks.

Seized were 5.86 grams of methamphetamine, 2.92 grams of cannabis, three $50 pa'anga counterfeit notes over $1,900 in cash and drug utensils. 

The Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce made the arrests at 'Anana, Fasi, Havelu, Kolomotu'a and Tokomololo between October 25 to November 13, as part of an ongoing operation targeting drug dealers and suppliers.

The ten accused, including nine men and one woman are between the ages of 23-52 years. They are expected to appear, at the Nuku'alofa Magistrate’s Court later this week. 

Acting Deputy Commissioner Tevita Vailea said today that Tonga Police is committed to disrupt and detect the supply of drugs and hold those responsible to account.
