New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s landslide victory two days ago was consolidated by the successful election of many members of her parliament including Tongan-born MP Jenny Salesa - a New Zealand Cabinet Minister.
Salesa now serves her third term as representative of the Panmure-Otahuhu electorate in Auckland. She overwhelmingly won the support of her electorate with 16,784 votes - well ahead of the 3,243 votes gathered by her nearest rival Kanwaljit Bakshi.
She is a member of Ardern’s Cabinet and currently holds three portfolios: Minister for Building and Construction, Minister of Customs and Minister for Ethnic Communities.
