Dana Stephenson receives a Letter of Exequatur from Prime Minister Hon. Dr Pohiva Tu'ionetoa. Nuku'alofa, 2 October 2020.

Margaret Elizabeth Donna Stephenson, also known as Dana Stephenson, was appointed as the new British Honorary Consul to Tonga, in Nuku'alofa today.

Prime Minister Hon Dr Pohiva Tu'i'onetoa presented her with a Letter of Exequatur granting her the authority to operate within the consular district of Tonga and exercise consular services to British nationals.

Dana is a qualified law practitioner in Tonga, practising since 2007 in commercial and business law. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Auckland University School of Law and has practiced in New Zealand and New York, USA, prior to working in Tonga in 2007 as partner of the law firm, Stephenson Associates. 

She is married to Ralph Stepenson and is the daughter of Mr Steven and Mrs Ann Edwards, who were present at the ceremony.

Approval was also granted for the appointment of Lucy Rebecca Joyce (OBE) as the next British High Commissioner to Tonga, with residence in Nuku’alofa.
