Tonga’s State of Emergency extended [1]

Tonga has extended its State of Emergency due to CoViD-19 from 8:00pm today, Monday 31 August until 8:00pm Monday 28 September.

The health State of Emergency was first declared by the Prime Minister, Hon. Rev. Dr Pohiva Tu’i’onetoa on 12 March 2020 and has been renewed regularly since.

Curfew uncertain

CoViD-19 National restrictions including the night-time curfew and social distancing requirements, as well as the number of people allowed to gather indoors and outdoors among other restrictions has not been received from Tonga Police at the time of publishing.
