Paul told Matangi Tonga the workers had been employed on the new Tonga Broadcasting Commission building, built under Japan Grant Aid by Dai Nippon Construction Limited of Japan.
The flight arrived at 8:16pm and departed for Auckland at 9.15pm.
“There was no cargo in either direction.”
Another Air New Zealand charter flight is scheduled to arrive at Fua’amotu International Airport on Monday to evacuate other nationals, he said.
