CBD murder trial to start next week [1]

The trial of five men charged with the murder of Sione Feimoefiafi (49) will start at the Supreme Court on Monday, August 31.

Konai Bloomfield, Vilaketi Bloomfield, Sione Bloomfield, Siafa Nai and Tangi Tiufilusi Nai appeared at the Supreme Court this morning, for a pre-trial conference.

Prosecution said the trial starts on August 31 for three-weeks before Hon Mr Justice Cato.

The victim, Feimoefiafi from Puke and Portland, USA was visiting family in Tonga when this tragedy occurred on February 4, 2019.

He was fatally injured in a beating alleged to have been committed by the accused at and outside the Tali‘eva Bar in broad daylight in the Nuku'alofa CBD.
