China donates medical equipment [1]

More medical supplies from China were handed over to the Ministry of Health at Vaiola Hospital on July 24.
The equipment included personal protective equipment (PPE) donated by the Tonga China Friendship Association (TCFA) and Chinese Government.
This was the second donation from China, which included 100 infrared thermometers, 500 PCR test kits, 1500 garments, 1000 shoe covers, 2000 gloves, 1000 face shields, 1500 goggles and 500 N95 masks.
The donation from TCFA channels incldued over 10,000 surgical masks, hand sanitizers and other items.
TCFA organised and collected donations from various channels in China, including its Chinese counterpart, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Tongan Embassy in China and private sector.
The Chinese Guangdong Province is also expected to to donate more PPEs in the near future, said a spokesperson from the Chinese Embassy in Nuku'alofa.
The handover on July 24 was attended by the Chinese Ambassador HE Cao Xiaolin and Minister of Health Hon Dr ‘Amelia Tu’ipulotu.
The Chinese Government in May handed over the first batch of medical equipment donated to the Ministry of Health.
