A second repatriation flight from New Zealand will bring 150 passengers from New Zealand on Tuesday, August 4.
Paula Ma’u MEIDECC CEO said today the flight is expected to arrive at Fua’amotu International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.
The passengers include 70 seasonal workers, with the rest frontline workers such as health officials, defence, police and civil servants, among others.
They will be quarantined for two-weeks at two venues, the Tanoa Hotel in Nuku'alofa and Taliai Military Camp in Fua’amotu.
It is expected that the men on the seasonal workers scheme will be kept at the military camp and the others at the hotel.
Paula said the list of passengers included people who were needed to strengthen Tonga's frontline work in efforts to keep us free from COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Dr Siale ‘Akau’ola CEO of Health said the 57 Tongans from Fiji were doing well at their homes, since being released five-days ago.
They tested negative for the virus and were quarantined at Tanoa Hotel, after they arrived on July 13 on Tonga's first repatriation flight.
