Three Tongan women from Fangaloto have joined forces to launch their three different businesses - a consultancy, a digital agency and a beauty branch - at a shared location in Nuku’alofa on July 24.

Katrina Ma’u Fatiaki with Saffron Norris and her daughter Beauty Saffron Norris Jr. operate their businesses out of one location on Wellington Road.

Katrina said their businesses will add value to both the government and private sector in Tonga and the Pacific.

She runs the Pasifika Tonga Consultancy (PTC) Ltd. with business partner, Saffron offering support in three key areas of gender, human rights technical support; leadership training, coaching and mentoring support; and public relations and coordination of events.

Saffron runs Digital Agency Tonga Ltd. which is established to help digitise Tonga transition organisations and businesses online. They focus on helping small-businesses, start-up entrepreneurs, as well as corporate and large organisations. Services offered includes website development, digital marketing, graphic and digital designs, cyber security and ecommerce.

The Beauty Saffron branch is managed by Beauty Saffron Norris Jnr. a Tonga High School 16-year-old student. The business has a head office in New Zealand.

The agency Beauty Saffron offers a range of luxury products including perfume, purses, belts, sunglasses, watches, and makeup. Customers can order products online and collect from the store.

Katrina acknowledged this is a difficult time to start businesses in Tonga.

“CoViD-19 has challenged all of us but it has also strengthened our resilience and support system to building local capacity and reinventing ourselves.”
