Four arrests in ongoing drugs operation [1]

Three men and one woman were arrested with illicit drugs at two different locations in Tongatapu.
The Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce made these arrests at Pelehake and Ma'ufanga, Acting Deputy Commissioner Tevita Vailea said today,
Police arrested a 28-year-old man from Kolofo’ou on June 28 .
He was involved in a car accident at Pelehake, where 0.50 grams of cannabis and drug utensils were seized.
On June 29, the Drug Taskforce arrested two men aged 40 and 31 years and a 32-year-old from a home in Ma'ufanga. Police seized five packs of methamphetamine (1.77 grams), $1,332 pa’anga in cash and drug utensils.
The accused had been charged and would appear at the Magistrate's Court on a date to be confirmed.
The A/Deputy Commissioner said that those who were seeking to profit from the harm drugs cause would be targeted by Police.
“Drugs have no place in our community, it destroys the lives of users, harming our children and our communities. We hope these arrests will bring some reassurance to the community.”
He urged anyone with information on drug dealing in communities to contact Police.
