A Joint Operations Room at His Majesty’s Armed Forces was refurbished with $25,000 pa’anga by the Australian Defence Cooperation Program.
The donated office equipment included chairs, table, three large TV monitors, air conditioning and IT to help HMAF plan and execute operations.
Australian Defence Advisor Commander Jason McBain was pleased that through this program the Australian Defence Force members living in Tonga were able to provide ongoing material and logistical support, during the COVID-19 State of Emergency.
The Australian Defence Cooperation Program is proud of its ongoing support to HMAF, which had constant operations since March supporting the Tongan Government's response to the pandemic.
HMAF Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, Captain Sione Ulakai was grateful for the continued strong relationship the Australian Government and Australian Defence Force have with HMAF and Tonga.
