Victim named in homicide investigation [1]

Harry Ofiu Vamanrar (27) died at Vaiola Hospital on Sunday May 10, after he was found critically injured at a home in Haveluloto. 

Acting Deputy Police Tevita Vailea in confirming the victim’s name today, said a homicide investigation continued. 

“We are still waiting on the doctor’s report but it is alleged he was assaulted,” he said.

Meanwhile, the accused, a 37-year-old man from Haveluloto has been arrested and charged with murder. He remains in police custody to appear at Fasi Magistrate’s Court next week.

On Saturday morning, May 9, Police were called to a home, where the victim from Ngele'ia was found critically injured. He passed away on the next day at Vaiola Hospital.

This is the first suspected homicide for the year.
