Eight people arrested charged with illicit drugs [1]

Seven men and a woman were arrested on charges of illicit drugs possession at different locations in Tongtapu on March 4.

The Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce seized 2.99 grams of methamphetamine, 44.1 grams of cannabis and drugs utensils. 

The accused aged between 17-52 years are from Vaini, Fua’amotu, Malapo and Ha’akame.

A/Deputy Commissioner Tevita Vailea said today, Police are committed to disrupt and detect the supply of drugs and hold those responsible to account. 

The Police encourage anyone who may have any information about drug related offendings to contact police on 22784.
