Four men have been arrested in relation to the seizure of cocaine and cannabis at ‘Umusi on Saturday, January 25.

The Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce made the arrest in the early morning from a mechanical workshop, in an ongoing drugs operation targeting drug dealers and suppliers.

Acting Deputy Police Commissioner Tevita Vailea, said today seized were two packs of cocaine (1.04 grams), 1.43 grams of cannabis, two live .22 bullets and over $5,000 pa'anga cash.

The accused aged 40-49 from Kolomotu’a, Kolofo’ou, Fangaloto and Vaini have been charged with possession of illicit drugs.

They were expected to appear at the Magistrate's Court today.

“These arrests should reassure the community that preventing illicit drugs supply is a high priority for Police. We will continue to target those who supply drugs within our community, and hold them to account for their crimes.”

The Acting D/Commissioner said Police relied on the public to pass on any information about drug cultivation, manufacture or dealing. They urged anyone who may have any information relating to drug related offending to contact police on 22782.
