Illicit drugs case up in Supreme Court [1]

The illicit drugs case against Sione Filipe Jr is set to be called for the first time on February 6, at the Supreme Court in Nuku'alofa.
Prosecution confirmed today, the accused is expected to appear together with co-accused Siua Sekona for arraignment.
Filipe is charged with possession of illicit drugs relating to the seizure of 242 grams of cannabis seeds brought into Tonga, at Fua’amotu International Airport in March, last year.
A search warrant was also executed at Filipe’s home in Tofoa, where officers allegedly seized over 85 grams of cannabis liquid along with an illegal firearm and ammunition.
Sekona is charged with Filipe in relation to the illicit drugs.
Meanwhile, Tonga Police had reported this case in April, last year after Quarantine officers intercepted cannabis seeds.
