First cruise ship for 2020 [1]

The Viking Sun, the first cruise ship to visit Tonga this year, arrived in the Nuku'alofa harbour this afternoon, January 21 for an overnight stay.
The cruise ship was initially scheduled to arrive on January 22, but arrived a day early due to Tropical Cyclone Tino on the weekend.
A spokesperson from the Ministry of Tourism said, the cruise was to visit Fiji first, had instead travelled to Nuku'alofa from French Polynesia, its last port.
With over 1,000 passengers and crew, the cruise is berthed at Vuna Wharf. It is expected to depart for Auckland at 6:00pm on Wednesday January 22.
The Viking Sun, left London in August last year, embarking on this Viking Ultimate World Cruise, ending in May.
Meanwhile, Tonga expects 31 cruise ships to visit this year.
In February alone, six cruise ships are expected to visit the capital.
