Tonga's IRENA Rep presents credentials [1]

Tonga’s Permanent Representative to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in Abu Dhabi, Hon. ‘Akau’ola has presented his credentials to IRENA Director General, Francesco La Camera recently.
Issues discussed included the upcoming IRENA General Assembly in January 2020 and the World Future Energy Summit.
The Director General is to continue the close working relationship with Tonga and other Pacific Island countries.
Ambassador 'Akau'ola had been involved with IRENA in the past, as Tonga's Council Member for a number of years as well as Vice-President of the Preparatory Commission and Chair of the Governance and Legal Committee.
IRENA is an intergovernmental organisation that supports countries in their transition to a sustainable energy future and serve as the principal platform for international cooperation, a centre of excellence and a repository of policy, technology, resource and financial knowledge on renewable energy.
