Nakolo man charged with illicit drugs possession [1]

A 30-year-old man from Nakolo was charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs, firearm and ammunition on October 30, as Tonga Police continues to target the supply of illicit drugs in the community.
Acting Police Commissioner Pelenatita Fe’ao Vaisuai said today, police seized four packs of methamphetamine (3.39 grams), one loaded .22 rifle, 53 live bullets and drug utensils at Nakolo.
The man was arrested while driving a vehicle with two different licence plates. This was discovered in an ongoing drug operation by the Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce, targeting drug dealers who sell illicit drugs from vehicles.
Police in searching his home seized an alleged 9.77 grams of cannabis.
The accused has been charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs, firearm and ammunition.

In a separate incident, the Drug Taskforce also arrested and charged a 29-year-old man from the same village, for unlawful possession of 1.00 gram of cannabis and one live bullet.
Both accused are in police custody as investigation continues.
