Polling stations for Tongatapu 1 By Election [1]

There will be five main polling stations in Tongatapu 1 for the By-Election on Thursday, November 28.

The By-election is to fill the seat of the late Hon ‘Akilisi Pohiva, Prime Minister and Tongatapu no.1 People’s Representative, who died in September.

Contesting his seat is his son, Siaosi Vailahi Pohiva and Dr Netatua Pelesikoti Taufatofua.

Polling stations, will open from 9:00am to 4:00pm at:

  1. FWC Hall, Kolomotu’a: for voters of Kolomotu’a
  2. FWC Tongata’eapa: for voters of Tongata’eapa and Tufuenga 
  3. FWC Hall, Sopu-‘o-Taufa’ahau: for voters of Sopu-‘o-Taufa’ahau and ‘Isileli 
  4. FWC Hall, Hala’ovave: for voters of Hala’ovave & Tu’atakilangi 
  5. FWC, Longolongo: for voters of Longolongo, Vaololoa and Kapeta 

Outer Islands

Meanwhile, voters of Tongatapu 1 may cast their votes if they are in the outer islands.

For Vava’u, polling will be at the Governor’s Office, and the Offices of the Government Representatives for voters in Ha’apai,‘Eua and the Niuas. 

In the 2017 General Election, out of the 4,256 registered voters in this constituency, only 2,731 (64.17 percent) of voters turned out and voted.
