Abu Dhabi Embassy, Tonga's first in Middle East [1]

King Tupou VI yesterday, 30 September 2019, opened Tonga’s new embassy in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Tonga’s Ambassador to UAE, ‘Akau‘ola, welcomed guests to his new headquarters at the Etihad Towers.
The event was attended by Zaki Nusseibeh, the UAE Minister of State; Saleh Ahmed Salem Al Suwaidi, UAE non-resident Ambassador to Tonga; Ahmed Al Hai Al Hamli, the Director of the East Asia and Pacific Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Saeed Abdullah Al Qamzi, Director of the Visits Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The UAE embassy is Tonga’s first to be established in the Middle East and the inauguration ceremony was attended by most of Tonga’s foreign ambassadors, who came from Canberra, Beijing, Tokyo, New York and London.
