Dr Siale 'Akau'ola receives the ambulance keys from President of Tonga's Rotary Club, Marsha Cato with Dr 'Amanaki Fakakovikaetau (Immediate Past President) and Peter Poulsen (International Director), Tofoa. 12 September 2019.

A new ambulance donated from the Rotary Club of Christchurch Sunrise in New Zealand was handed over to Vaiola Hospital on September 12. 

Valued at around $30,000 pa’anga the ambulance was presented the President of the Rotary Club Nuku'alofa, Marsha Cato to the Ministry of Health CEO Dr Siale ‘Akau’ola.

Dr Siale ‘Akau’ola thanked the good people at Rotary Christchuch for the generous donation, of the new ambulance which was timely in replacing an ambulance that had an accident.

“These are just things that we needed when we were down, it lifts us up. I am so happy.”

In addition, he acknowledged Nuku’alofa Rotary for their giving heart. “We need more people like them to make the world a better place.”

Rotary Nuku'alofa present included International Director Peter Poulsen and member Tai'atu 'Ata'ata.
