Lavulavu forgery trial set for 2020 [1]

The forgery trial against a current People’s Representative to Parliament ‘Akosita Lavulavu, and her husband, a former Cabinet Minister, ‘Etuate Lavulavu is now set for 2020.
The Crown said the trial dates are April 13 to May 28 to be held at the Supreme Court in Nuku’alofa.
They are charged with six counts each of knowingly dealing with forged documents and obtaining money by false pretences, relating to a number of irregularities in an audit of the ‘Unuaki ‘o Tonga Royal Institute in 2016.
The accused couple pleaded not guilty to all charges in February this year.
