Tonga’s first ever Mr World contestant, 24-year-old Mikaele 'Ahomana, has won a spot in the top 12 contestants in the pageant’s grand final to be held on 24 August in Manilla, Philippines.

Mikaele, a talented musician, won the talent and creativity competition in the pageant on 21 August.

Mikaele was among the top five competing in the final round of the talent competition, outperforming them with his rendition [2] of country song ‘Bless the Broken Road”.

The other four contestants included Indonesia performing magic tricks, England playing the drums, Netherlands performing Latin dancing and Nigeria performing contemporary dance.

According to the Conan Daily [3], Mikaele is a talented musician and writes songs, plays the piano, the guitar, the base and ukulele.

Mikaele, who is also known as Henry, was born in Tonga and grew up in New Zealand. He works as a machine operator and a forklift driver and speaks Tongan and English.

Another Pacific Islander from Samoa is also a contestant.

This is the 10^th edition of the international male beauty pageant.
