Chinese nationals charged with gambling [1]

Twenty six Chinese nationals have been similarly charged with gambling after more than $89,000 pa’anga and other foreign currencies was seized on Sunday, August 18.
Police today said the accused are due to appear at the Fasi Magistrate’s Court on August 23.
Apart from the gambling charges, one of the accused is charged with possession of a firearm without a license.
While, the 48-year-old owner of the building, where the games were held in Tofoa face an additional charge of keeping a gaming house.
The Police Drugs Enforcement Taskforce arrested them for playing games for money or other stakes at this buiding in an ongoing police operation.
The accused included 17 men and nine women between the ages of 23-year-old to 65-year-old.
Police had also seized five pistol air guns and illegal cigarettes.
