Second man charged in Sione Filipe Jr illicit seeds case [1]

Siua Sekona is a co-accused charged with Sione Filipe Jr in charges relating to the seizure of 242 grams of cannabis seeds brought into Tonga, at Fua’amotu International Airport in March.
Tonga Police Prosecution confirmed the case was called on July 15 at the Fasi Magistrate's Court and adjourned to October 7 for investigation to be completed.
Sekona, who lived in the United States, has been in police custody over the past few weeks. He was arrested while visiting Tonga and released on bail yesterday.
Meanwhile, Filipe Jr. was charged related to cannabis seeds on March 30.
Tonga Police had reported this cae on April 18, after Quarantine officers intercepted cannabis seeds.
A search warrant was executed at Filipe’s home in Tofoa, where officers allegedly seized over 85 grams of cannabis liquid along with an illegal firearm and ammunition.
Filipe was then charged with unlawfully possessing and importing illicit drugs, possessing a firearm and ammunition without a license and false declaration on arrival card.
Sekona is similarly charged in relation to the illicit drugs.
