Eight arrested with methamphetamine [1]

Eight people were arrested with packs of methamphetamine, cash and bullets on the evening of July 1 in ongoing illicit drugs operations by Tonga Police.
The Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce arrested five men and two women, from a home in Kolomotu’a with four packs of methamphetamine (2.07 grams), drugs paraphernalia, cash and 17 live bullets. Deputy Police Commissioner Pelenatita Fe`ao Vaisuai said today, the seven were aged 22 to 48-years old were from Kolomotu’a, Kolofo’ou, Tokomololo and Havelu.
On the same night, at around 9:00pm the Taskforce arrested a 44-year-old man from Kolomotu’a with one pack of methamphetamine (0.38 grams) and drugs paraphernalia.
All of the suspects have been charged with possession of illicit drugs and remain in police custody to appear at the Magistrate’s Court on a later date.
“We encourage anyone who may have information about drug related offending to contact the nearest Police station or call Police emergency Number 922 or 22782,” she said.
