‘Eua teacher charged with cultivating cannabis [1]

The 42-year-old male teacher who was arrested last week in the seizure of cannabis plants at ‘Eua High School has been charged with cultivation.

Police said today the accused who has not been named is still detained in police custody.

He is expected to appear at the Magistrate’s Court in ‘Eua on July 3.

Meanwhile, he has been charged with cultivation of the illicit drug as investigation continues.

On June 27, Police disrupted the cannabis growing operation seizing 51 cannabis plants at ‘Eua High School.

A total of 33 cannabis plants were seized from inside the school compound and 18 plants were seized from an area outside the school compound. 

The accused teacher from Tufuvai was arrested while watering the cannabis plants.
