Melefifita Percilla ‘Alovili from Brisbane will participate in the Miss Heilala Pageant, from June 26 to July 5, a highlight of the Heilala Festival in Nuku'alofa.

Melefifita, a mental health counselor, was runner-up at the 2019 Miss Tonga Australia pageant.

Melefifita established 'Alovili Home in May last year, to raise awareness for Mental Health, Suicide Prevention and Sexual Abuse in the Pacific Island Community living in Australia. She refers enquiries to appropriate service providers in Australia. 

"I am so grateful to have this platform to share my message of hope and educate our people in topics that are, unfortunately, stigmatized and to be a voice for those who are still trying to fine their own," she said.

Melefifita, hopes that in future ‘Alovili Home will eventually build teams to visit their island homes and run educational workshops on mental health.

Brisbane Tongan Community Inc. reported that Melefifita overcame traumatic circumstances in her life.
