Accused in cannabis wharf seizure on bail [1]

Loketi Veimau the man arrested with cannabis, a firearm and ammunition smuggled in a shipment from the United States last month has been released on bail.

Police Prosectuon said the 50-year-old accused from Lapaha appeared at the Fasi Magistrate's Court today June 10.

His case was adjourned to August 5 and he was granted bail.

On May 24, Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce  with Customs intercepted 10.62 grams of cannabis, a .22 rifle and 76 live bullets smuggled in the shipment.

The accused was arrested together with the shipment on his way out of a bondage warehouse at Ma‘ufanga.

He was charged for the importation of illicit drugs and importation of Arms and Ammunition without a licence.
