Tonga’s Prime Minister Hon Samuela ‘Akilisi Pohiva was reported to be back at work on May 20 in Nuku'alofa, after returning from New Zealand.

He returned tp Tonga on Saturday, May 18 after a second stage of his treatment originally set for May 16 was rescheduled for early June.

Lopeti Senituli, the PM’s Political and Media Adviser said today, th PM is taking his medication prescribed by the doctors in New Zealand.

"The Hon PM will be meeting Dr. Sione Latu, who is liaising with the Auckland doctors, later this week to confirm date of the next stage.”

On May 8, the PM underwent the first stage of his treatment at Mercy Hospital, after it was confirmed earlier that he was to undergo “a medical procedure due to a liver complication”.
