Cabinet Ministers pending court cases [1]

The cases against two Tongan Cabinet Ministers, one over a stolen cow and the other disobeying a Port Master’s direction in regards to his vessels, are pending at the Fasi Magistrate's Court.
Minister of Justice, Sione Vuna Fa’otusia has been charged with wrongful interference with the course of justice and using threatening language to police officers, over a stolen cow incident in January this year.
The Prosecution confirmed today, Fa'otusia has submitted there is no case to answer and a hearing on submissions will be held on May 9.
Meanwhile, a trial date is to be set for Dr Tu’i Uata, Minister of Trade and Economic Development and his brother ‘Etuate who has been charged with neglecting to obey and refusal to obey the Port Master’s direction in the mooring of their two vessels, MV Pulupaki and MV Punalei.
Their trial date to be held at the Magistrate’s Court is expected to be confirmed sometime this week.
