Editor,

Before my medication starts wearing off, may I ask anyone in the forum to call the police. There is a robbery in progress in our Parliament. But, don'’t be alarmed. The PRs are there to save the day. Wait! I could be wrong. Oh Wait! I am wrong. The elected Representatives are now electing themselves as legal thieves on your behalf, and Wait! We are being robbed. Call the Police!

It is astounding, that it was only a few months ago when the PM called for a reduced workweek (three days instead of four days) and the PRs supported the agenda. Poor PRs! Overworked and underpaid, but diligently and selflessly fighting for equality. Unfortunately for you and me, the PRs want equal opportunity to rob us like we accused the Royal children of doing. Equality? For whom? My fellow Tongans, it seems you and me have to wait. Ms Lepolo Taunisila'’s endorsement of this robbery, the higher salary reflects the higher value placed on the position of being a member of Parliament and the hard work they carry out should make every citizen pause for a moment of silence and then throw-up. I don't know about you, but I am feeling nauseous.

It was only a few months ago that our PRs were filing a lawsuit to void the opening of Parliament. They failed, now they want to pick your pocket as well. They want an outrageous three-day-work week schedule and to add salt to the injury, they want a 60% pay increase. I know you are not as outraged as I am, but wait, it gets better. The PRs want back pay as well. You are correct. You did not get it wrong. Our hardworking PRs want back pay as far back as July 2005 on top of their pay raise. These are the people who are claiming to represent you and fight for your rights. I guess fight for one's rights starts with the person who fights. The Good Lord sure helps those who help themselves. These perpetrators ('Akilisi Pohiva, 'Uliti Uata, 'Isi Pulu, Lepolo Taunisila, Sunia Fili, Vili Kaufusi, Clive Edwards, 'Osai Latu and Vili Helu ) sure have no shame. Their point for argument still does not justify the fact they work less hours and demand more pay. Keep in mind, your taxes may be raised to pay their salaries and they are not telling you that.

Mr. Kalafi Moala, a staunch Temo Supporter is right when he says this about the Temos (Akilisi Pohiva, Clive Edwards, et al). '‘I he faaifononga mai 'a e Temo, '‘oku ou sio au 'oku '‘alu pe taimi ia, ko e laumalie fakaaoao mo fakamalohi 'oku fu'’u malohi ange ia '‘i he kau taki Temo '‘i he pule'anga, pea kapau te nau ma'u 'a e mafai pule, te nau tamoloki '‘a e kakai. If you are still looking for more evidence to support my incoherent babbling after this scandalous and outrageous behaviour of the PRs, you'll never find it. It is happening now and you can't see it.

For the hard working PRs, in the event you are tired of working too hard to serve the people who elected you to your High and Mighty positions in Parliament, I want to share your burden with you. I am volunteering to come down there and do your job and work five days a week for free. For your advance information, I will ask to roll back all the pay raises since it was not based on merits or skills but on lies you told the people to have you elected. The Civil Servants demanded their pay raise because they have the skills and the education to support their claim. Other than hot air, what do you have to support your claim with? To show my sincerity about my offer, I am disclosing my telephone number for you to call me. I'm only a phone call away. My telephone number is (801) 230-7720. I'’ll standby for your call. Tilingi! Tilingi!
