Police seize meth over weekend [1]

Eight men were arrested with illicit drugs, which included 21.94 grams of methamphetamine seized at various locations in Tongatapu over the weekend.
Police Drug Enforcement Taskforce made the latest arrests on Friday and Saturday, March 22-23.
Deputy Commissioner Pelenatita Vaisuai said today four men were arrested with 3.95 grams of cannabis and cash at a home in Mataika and Ngele’ia, last Friday.
For others from different locations were arrested on the next day, with 21.94 grams of methamphetamine, 3.54 grams of cannabis and six live ammunitions.
The suspects are in police custody to appear at the Magistrate Court later this week.
“Tonga Police are committed to disrupt and detect the supply of drugs and prevent the harm this illegal activity causes."
Police will continue to work with the community to prevent the harm illicit drugs cause and the ongoing criminal activity associated with their use.
