Diplomats present credentials to King Tupou VI [1]

Royal Palace, Nuku’alofa.

Five diplomats are presenting their Letters of Credence to HM King Tupou VI at the Royal Palace in Nuku’alofa during Diplomatic Week from 18 – 22 March.

The credentials are presented in a formal ceremony which marks the beginning of the diplomat’s ambassadorship.

The diplomats include the High Commissioner of Australia, HE Mr Adrian Morrison, the Ambassador of Thailand, HE Mrs Nantana Sivakua, Ambassador of the Czech Republic, HE Mr Tomas Dub, Ambassador of Georgia, HE Mr George Dolidze, and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, HE Mr Paul Gulleik Larsen. The High Commissioner of Australia is based in Nuku'alofa, while the other Ambassadors are all based in Canberra, Australia.

The diplomats will also meet with the Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon ‘Akilisi Pohiva, and the Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Mr Mahe ‘Uli’uli Tupouniua.
