Police investigate sexual assault of girls [1]

Tonga Police are investigating separate cases of sexual assault of two young girls reported last week in Nuku'alofa
Acting Chief Superintendent Tevita Vailea said on February 26, they received a report that an 11-year-old girl was alleged to have been sexually assaulted at a home in Fanga. This offence occured at around midnight.
The other case was a 12-year-old girl who was reported to have been sexually assaulted at Sopu last week.
“What we have now is that this young victim is alleged to have been sexually assaulted numerous times from 2017-18. Investigation continues into both cases,” he said.
No further information was released at this stage.
